Welcome to the Year 6 Transition Page. 

Key dates and information will be listed here to help you manage the secondary school application and transition process. Please remember that, even if there are older siblings at secondary school you must still apply for a place. If you need any support with this or any further information regarding this process either use the website above or speak to us and we will help as much as possible. 

Letters sent out in September are named for each Year 6 child and include important information to support the application process. 

Applications must be in by the 31st October. Please ensure you do this to be allocated a school place.

Our local secondary school is All Saints Academy and this is where the majority of our children go, however each year some children do go to Bournside, Pittville, Cleeve or Balcarras. There are a number of grammar schools within Gloucestershire such as Pates, The Crypt, Denmark Road and Sir Thomas Rich's. Please do note the early date (whilst your child is in Year 5) to register for the Grammar School Test if you would like your child to take this. 

In the Summer Term secondary schools organise transition days where Year 6 pupils spend one or two days at their new school. You will receive information from the new school but as soon as we have these dates we will let you know too. These are authorised days where you will need to organise transport to and from the new school.
