PE

In Year 3 PE will be on a WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY.  Children should have their PE kit in school in a NAMED PE bag. During the colder months, your child is allowed to bring a hoodie to wear. Alternatively, they can wear their school jumper. Long black/navy bottoms are also suggested for the colder months. Please ensure that it is all named clearly.

Homework

In Year 3, Homework consists of a spelling activity, a times tables activity and a handwriting activity.  In addition to this the children are also expected to read daily.

Reading
It is the expectation that children read for 20 minutes a day at least 5 times a week.  Please ensure that your child’s reading record is signed each day.  The children can borrow books from their classroom or the school library.

Spelling
Year 3 children will have a list of spelling words sent home each week to learn for a test on the Friday.

Handwriting
Children need to practise the given letter pattern and then copy the given sentence.

Times Tables
Children need to complete the given times tables activity.  They also need to practise their ability to recall the times tables facts by using Times Table Rock Stars.  Logins for TTRS are included in your child’s Homework Diary.  Engaging in these activities will help your child to recall these facts quickly and accurately.

This term our class readers are Stitch Head by Guy Bass and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
