A fundamental principle of all GLA Trust schools is a passionate belief that all of our children should be able to reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstances, race, gender or ability.

At Springbank Primary Academy we have a team of staff who are committed to support all children and reduce barriers to learning.

At Springbank Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on our ability to offer, and successfully deliver, a full curriculum that is inclusive to all children, irrespective of need. Our school is very proud of the inclusive approach we have towards the children’s education.

We encourage parents to discuss their child's progress and needs regularly with class teachers and, when appropriate, our SENDCo's Mrs Butt or Mrs Wale.

Springbank Primary Academy works very closely with all of the teaching/ support staff and, as a result, is able to support children with a wide range of academic, physical and social needs. We carefully plan the support and interventions for all groups of children which are regularly reviewed. This may be in the form of classroom-based support or withdrawn support, often in small group or one-to-one sessions using resources from within the school and from the support services within the County.

We maintain very close working relationships with children, staff, parents/carers and other agencies. Indeed, partnership with parents/carer is of the utmost importance. We are proud of our ability to support children with a variety of special needs and have taken steps to ensure that all children are treated equally.

We work closely with other agencies and organisations to ensure that we have the necessary expertise, and in some cases equipment, to manage the specific needs of individual pupils in our care.

The GLA Trust Board regularly review its provision for children with special needs and ensure that staff are well prepared and trained.

If you would like to discuss any issues regarding your child and SEND, please speak to your class teacher, Mrs Butt or Mrs Wale who will be happy to provide both information and support.
