Religious Education

Our RE curriculum is designed to engage and enthuse learners whilst nurturing their understanding and awareness of belonging and diversity whatever their own family background, personal beliefs and practices.

It is our intent that children will learn about a range of religions and world views and through mutual respect, tolerance of others’ views and exposure to different religious views, pupils will gain a deep knowledge and understanding of the modern world. In doing so we enable our children to make their own informed decisions and to have the aspiration and confidence to voice their views.

In our schools, we follow Gloucestershire Agreed Syllabus. The Gloucestershire Agreed Syllabus for RE has a threefold aim:

1. Make sense of a range of religious and non-religious beliefs.

2. Understand the impact and significance of religious and non-religious beliefs.

3. Make connections between religious and non-religious beliefs, concepts, practices and ideas studied.
